Mike Landis
President

Mike holds a senior leadership role in the financial services industry. With a passion for fostering educational opportunities and supporting local schools, Mike has played a pivotal role in advancing the Foundation's mission to enrich the learning experiences of students and empower educators. He and his wife Jammie have two kids in the Gladstone School District. As a 2000 graduate of GHS, Mike is committed to ensuring today’s Gladstone students have access to the same exceptional experiences and opportunities he once had.​
Brian Young
Vice President
Brian Young has proudly called Oregon home since 2009. He and his wife thoughtfully chose the Gladstone School District as the ideal environment for their children’s education. Their children have thrived within this community, attending GCCF, John Wetten Elementary, and currently making memories at Kraxberger Middle School and Gladstone High School. Brian serves as an operations manager for a regional civil landscape construction company, focusing on complex projects that positively shape community infrastructures in Oregon and Washington. One of the most fulfilling aspects of Brian’s involvement with the Foundation is contributing to the development of enriching opportunities, for both students and the broader community, that foster growth and learning. In his leisure time, Brian cherishes all manner of adventurous outings. He is especially passionate about supporting his children as they learn life lessons while pursuing their various activities and interests.




Bill Kemnitzer
Past President
Bill is a retired Gladstone High School teacher and counselor. He has been involved with the Gladstone School District since the fall of 1968; two of his children are Gladstone graduates. He believes community support for education is vital and that volunteering to support activities which support student success is time well spent.
Mark Baker
Secretary
Mark is a semi-retired Gladstone resident with a professional background in public relations and marketing. His family has been closely associated with Gladstone schools since the high school opened in 1966. A key motivator for his service on the board is ensuring that our community's children are offered the valuable educational and enrichment opportunities he experienced as a student in Gladstone schools.




Shelby Crystal
Executive Director
Shelby is a Teacher and Cheerleading Coach at Gladstone High School. Born and raised in Gladstone, she is a proud k-12 alumni, that has a deep-rooted love for this community. Shelby’s passion and commitment for helping students achieve their highest potential, is a key motivator for her involvement with the Foundation.
When she is not in the classroom, at practice or any other Gladstone event, Shelby enjoys spending time with her husband, their large family and her two Great Danes!
Maureen Huntley
CPA/Treasurer
Maureen is a retired commercial mortgage banker and CPA. She has a long history with the Gladstone School District through various behind-the-scenes roles supporting her husband, who spent almost his entire teaching/coaching/administrative career with the District. She has served as the Foundation’s accountant/treasurer since 2009.

Meet Our Directors
John Schmerber
John is the Chief of Police for the City of Gladstone who is committed to the safety and security of the youth in the community. John has a long history of supporting youth through coaching little baseball and over fifteen years coaching both youth and high school football in the Beaverton School District. His belief is a strong successful school district equates to a thriving community. John’s commitment to the growth of the youth in the Gladstone community is his purpose to being on the board.




Tonya Hirte
Tonya is a parent of two Gladstone students and has volunteered as a GEF Board member since 2016. She is a financial professional in the retirement plan services industry. Tonya’s commitment to GEF and the Gladstone community stems from her passion to be engaged within the community and help provide novel resources to our children that they may not otherwise have access or experience. Mike Stasny
Mike Stastny is an Employee Benefits Consultant with USI Insurance Services. He served as President of the State and Local Chapters of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals to help influence and support the business community.
Mike and his wife have two kids in the Gladstone School District and have often dreamed of providing additional opportunities and resources for their kids and the other families in Gladstone’s schools and sports teams. He enjoys giving back and building up his community by coaching youth sports, having coached Gladstone’s 8U and 10U Girls Softball, Junior and Senior Boys Baseball, and 5th- 8th Grade Boys Basketball teams.
Mike was additionally motivated to serve on the Gladstone Education Foundation from watching his father serve on the Klamath County School Board growing up and modeling the importance of civic engagement. He seeks to help Gladstone advance further, do better and shape our great kids into stellar members of society.







Bill Stewart
Bill is a retired teacher, coach, athletic director and administrator who spent the vast majority of his career with Gladstone School District. He currently volunteers with several professional organizations, all of which are focused on the health, well-being and academic success of kids in the community and across Oregon.
He joined the GEF Board over a decade ago, hoping to support and sustain the quality of learning and life in Gladstone schools.
Lorisa Kennedy
Lorisa is a Cheerleading Coach at Gladstone High School and our newest Board member. Born and raised in Gladstone, she is a proud k-12 alumni, that has a deep-rooted love for this community. Lorisa is a small business owner and has built her career around serving the town she loves most. In her free time, she loves hanging out with her dog Theo!



Danielle Moore
Danielle is a Student and Community Engagement Specialist in the North Clackamas School District, a community that she enjoys supporting by providing equitable access to education and extracurricular activities.
She has two boys, who have loved being a part of the Gladstone community since kindergarten-currently at John Wetten and Kraxberger MS. Our favorite time of year is the Gladstone festival, where we get to see our entire community come together for the parade, games, bingo and more!
