Seeking Grants from the Gladstone Education Foundation

The Gladstone Education Foundation is a community-based non-profit organization that was formed to help provide support for educational activities in the Gladstone School District and in the community that fall outside of state and local funding.

The board of directors currently meets on a monthly basis to review grant applications. To review a list of projects the Foundation has supported in the past, click here.

If you wish to apply for a grant from the Gladstone Education Foundation, please first review the Foundation’s Philosophy of Funding.

Philosophy of Funding

  1. The Foundation seeks to support activities, innovations, and improvements that enhance and enrich the educational programs and services for youth in the area served by the Gladstone School District.
  2. The Foundation believes that funding should be used for projects that are not part of the regular, on-going operational budget of the Gladstone School District or other agencies.
  3. High-profile funding that will enhance the work of the Foundation and help secure further contributions is important, but will not be the most important factor in awards.
  4. Projects of any size will be considered (though typically awards have ranged from $300 up to nearly $3000).
  5. The Foundation does not intend to interfere with or replace the efforts of other fund-raising groups.
  6. The Foundation wishes to promote matching grants and partnerships with other groups and agencies which will further the goals of the Foundation. Similarly, the Foundation will look favorably on those who have already made an effort toward funding their project before making application to the Foundation.
