Contributions Have Benefited a Variety of Educational Programs, Activities in the Gladstone School District
Thanks to generous contributions made by parents, businesses, community friends, and alumni, the Gladstone Education Foundation has been able to provide partial or complete funding for projects that have benefited an estimated 3000+ students, teachers, and community members thus far. Funded projects have included:
- Amplification systems that enhance learning at John Wetten Elementary School
- An interactive reading software program for K-2 students at John Wetten Elementary School
- A tuba and piccolo flute for the band program at Kraxberger Middle School
- Biotechnology materials to support high caliber lab experiences for Gladstone High School science students
- Seismic software Gladstone High School science students can use to construct sensing and measurement systems
- A color printer to help support the computer graphics program at Gladstone High School
- A tuba for the band program at Gladstone High School
- Uniforms for the Gladstone Kids Wrestling Program
- Parenting classes for families in the community (support provided in 2001 and 2002)
- Grade-level-appropriate reading materials for the Gladstone High School library
- Support for a grounds beautification project involving Kraxberger Middle School leadership students
- An “Experience Music” field trip for band students at Kraxberger Middle School
- New risers for the music program at John Wetten Elementary School
- Needed equipment for a design technology class at Kraxberger Middle School
- Chemical analysis supplies for a science class at Gladstone High School
- Dream Weaver software students can use in computer science classes at Gladstone High School to help build their own web pages / online portfolios
